Our Safety Commitment
Africa Jet Link is a charter broker and mission coordinator, we do not fly aircraft ourselves. That independence carries an obligation: we only work with aircraft operators who are properly licensed, insured and regulated in the jurisdictions where they operate, and every mission is flown under the aviation regulations that govern it.
What We Verify Before Every Flight
Before we propose an aircraft for your mission, we check the fundamentals with the operating company:
- Operator licensing and regulatory registration
- Current aviation insurance coverage
- Aircraft documentation and maintenance status
- Flight crew experience and type ratings
- Trip permits, clearances and landing approvals
- Ground handling and safety at every stop
Our Role, and Yours
As your mission coordinator, we select and verify operators, secure permits and manage every detail of the trip. Passengers remain responsible for valid travel documents, passports, visas and any health requirements, and for following the instructions of the flight crew on board, whose authority governs the safety of every flight.
Regulatory Framework
Every flight we coordinate is operated under the rules of the relevant civil aviation authority and international standards. Depending on the route, these include:
- ICAO international standards and recommended practices
- National authorities such as KCAA, NCAA, SACAA and GCAA
- EASA and UK CAA rules for European flights
- A valid Air Operator Certificate (AOC) for every operator
Operator Selection Standards
We favour operators who can demonstrate a strong safety culture, and we may take independent industry audits into account when proposing an aircraft. If an operator cannot provide the documents we request, we do not propose its aircraft.
- Documented Safety Management System (SMS)
- Clean recent safety and regulatory record
- Two-pilot crews on jet aircraft
- Third-party liability and passenger insurance
Security and Confidentiality
For government, diplomatic and high-profile clients, we coordinate with airport security, VIP terminals and approved protection teams, and we limit mission details to the people who must know them. Passenger screening and security procedures follow the rules of each airport and country.
Medical Flight Standards
Medical flights are carried out only by licensed medical-flight providers with appropriately equipped aircraft and qualified medical crews. All clinical decisions, including whether a patient is fit to fly, are made by those licensed medical professionals, never by Africa Jet Link.
Anti-Corruption, Sanctions and Ethics
We conduct our business with integrity. We do not offer or accept bribes, we screen missions against applicable international sanctions, and we may ask for identity or organisation details where the law requires it. We decline any request that would breach the law or put people at risk.
Reporting a Safety Concern
If you notice anything that concerns you before, during or after a flight, please tell us straight away on our 24/7 line +254 700 000 000 or at missions@africajetlink.com. Every report is taken seriously, raised with the operator and handled confidentially.
Pre-Flight Safety Briefing
Before every departure, the operator’s crew briefs passengers on emergency exits, seat belts, oxygen masks, life vests and the location of safety equipment. We make sure briefings can be given in English or French on request.
Weather, Terrain and Airport Assessment
Africa’s routes include high-altitude airports, remote airstrips, seasonal rains and desert heat. For each mission we confirm with the operator that the aircraft, runway length, weather and airport facilities are suitable, and we propose alternatives if they are not.
- High-altitude and hot-weather performance checks
- Runway length and surface suitability
- Seasonal weather and night-landing limits
- Fuel availability at remote stops
Crew Duty and Rest
Long missions from Africa to Europe, the Middle East or the Americas may require additional crew or planned rest stops. We plan schedules within the operator’s approved flight-time and duty limits so crews are always rested.
Insurance Cover
Operators we work with must hold valid insurance appropriate to the aircraft and mission. We can share confirmation of the operator’s cover on request before you sign your charter agreement.
- Passenger liability
- Third-party liability
- Baggage and cargo cover
- Hull insurance for the aircraft
Emergency Response
If an incident or unexpected diversion occurs, our 24/7 mission team works with the operator to keep passengers informed, arrange accommodation or onward travel, and notify the contacts you have designated.
Continuous Improvement
We review every mission after it is completed, including client feedback and any safety observations, and we stop using operators that do not meet our standards.
